Retreats 2024

With the belief (and the evidence!) that extended time in nature can be transformational, I offer guided, bespoke retreats in some of the most spectacular settings imaginable. This is some of my favorite work that I do, sharing these places and the famed “three-day effect” that I often write about. It’s all about awe, connection, regeneration. My work has been deepened by the practices I offer as a certified forest-therapy guide. I specialize in how opening ourselves to beauty and awe can lead to transformational change on a personal and institutional level. My retreats focus on building a deep, comfortable, nurturing, and reciprocal relationship with nature. Through simple but powerful science-based practices for embodiment, mindfulness, and creativity, we access healing, growth, safety, and connection. Plus we have fun and eat well, all surrounded by some of the most spectacular landscapes you will find anywhere. Come find your Nature Fix!

Gates of Lodore Nature Fix River Retreat

Sept. 12-15, 2024

(for men and women)

You asked and here it is: A river retreat!

Join me in partnership with OARS for an extraordinary spell of immersive nature connection on the Green River in Utah.

Ideal for first-time or seasoned rafters, our days on the water will feature fun, splashy Class II-III rapids punctuated by delicious lunches on pristine beaches. We will stop at magical places to explore, swim, and camp under a brilliant sky (on CUSHY mattresses!). We’ll find sit-spots, engage in observational journaling and tap into our innate ability to experience awe, find perspective and share wisdom.

These practices are particularly useful for anyone undergoing periods of flux or difficulty or transitions in their life, but are also wonderful for dealing with the usual stresses of modern life.

We’ll discuss the latest scientific understandings of awe, beauty, and sensorial perception. We'll consider evolutionary and neuroscientific approaches to the human/nature connection, and learn how to cultivate it more deeply.
